Serving Those Who Serve Our Country

At Family Home Health Network, we are proud and honored to serve veterans. In fact, we have partnered with the Department of Veteran Affairs to improve veterans’ access to quality hospice care through a program called We Honor Veterans.

We Honor Veterans is “focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment.” According to their website, “The goal of the program is simple – to care for and honor those who have served when they reach the end of life. A vast majority of Veterans are not enrolled in VA and may not be aware of end-of-life services and benefits available to them, including the Medicare Hospice Benefit and VA-paid hospice care.”

As members of We Honor Veterans, Family Home Health Network:

  • Serves the hospice needs of veterans, including increased access to hospice and palliative care.
  • Educates staff and caregivers about symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and secondary traumatic stress disorder (STSD), as well as the unique challenges of veterans from different war eras.
  • Helps ensure veterans are receiving all benefits for which they are eligible.

To all veterans, we say “Thank you for your service.” We honor you on Veterans Day and every day.
